Kayaking and tubing in Vang Vieng, Laos
Set amongst some of the most spectacular sceneries the country has to offer, this small town of Vang Vieng, which used to be considered a party town for backpackers, is now surely and gradually shaking off that accolade. Drifting down the river in a rubber tube, making a stop at unique bars and drinking way too much are some of the most popular activities here. Instead, paddling down the river through some sensational scenery, going tubing through a pitch black cave before following up with a few-kilometer kayak down the river will be such an unforgettable experience.

4000 islands
Near the Cambodian border, 4000 islands, otherwise known as Si Phan Don, which is one of the top tourist destinations in the far south of Laos, is a big draw for many who visit this beautiful country. Made up of loads of islands sitting in the Mekong River, this area, in some respects, is somewhat similar to the chilled out vibes of several of the smaller Thai islands. Although there are fewer tourists here, you can still grab some great chances to observe locals going about their simple daily life. You should always have something to do, from hiring bicycle, beaches to lie on and plenty of hikes to embark on. Taking a kayak or boat trip out to see a very rare breed of dolphin in the river is what you can also do once coming to this area.
