Day 1: Chiang Rai arrival
In the morning, arrive Chiang Rai. You are welcomed by tour guide and transfer your lodge in Ban Kiukarn village. Visit the village inhabited by Hmong & Lahu tribes. These ethnic groups are quite important in the region and in the Golden Triangle sector. In the afternoon, first experience with Hmong community. Overnight in the lodge in Chiang Rai.

Day 2: Chiang Rai- Houay Xay- Pakbeng
Breakfast at the lodge and then a short drive will lead you to the border. Your guide will help you to cross the border (by pirogue if the bridge is not yet opened). Once in Laos, your guide will help you to enter to the country and you will reach your boat for a cruise down on the Mekong towards Pakbeng (departure must be not later than 9am, border is opening at 8am). Lunch will be served on board.
Option: in the afternoon, Lao teas degustation session during the cruise
Arrival in late afternoon in Pakbeng, welcome drinks and check in lodge. Free time at leisure for the rest of the day and the dinner will be served at the restaurant of the lodge. Overnight in the lodge.

Day 3: Pakbeng- Muang La
Breakfast in the lodge and then drive northwards to Oudomxay (around 3 hours) with some stops along the way to visit hill tribes villages. Once in Oudomxay, we will ascent the Mount Phou That to enjoy a unique panoramic view over the town.
Lunch in a local restaurant before to pursue our trip to Muang La where we will arrive less than an hour after. Rest of the day, free time at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the resort (hot bath, massage – at discretion of the client- and to walk through the village and surroundings where there’s an old pagoda and a salt mine. Dinner and overnight in Muang La.

Day 4: Muang La
Breakfast at the resort, today is free on your own leisure or you can choose the option tour as below.
Option : Departure in the morning by bike to discover the region and its ethnic groups : Hmong, Khamu, Akha. The lunch will be a picnic from an amazing spot to enjoy the view over the region and then return in the afternoon to the resort.
Then free time at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Muang La.

Day 5: Muang La – Muang Khua – Muang Ngoi
Breakfast at the hotel and then departure to Muang Khua on the bank of the Nam Ou River. Muang Khua was a former French garrison till 1954 and the end of the French presence in the region. This region is mainly inhabited by Akha, Khamu & Tai Dam (Black Tai) groups. Then, cruise down the Nam Ou river to Muang Ngoi (around 3 hours). Lunch will be served on board. Once in Muang Ngoi, check in at your hotel and a short walk in the vicinity will afford to meet locals. Dinner at the discretion of the client. Overnight in Muang Ngoi.

Day 6: Muang Ngoi- Luang Prabang
Breakfast at the hotel before continuing your cruise towards Luang Prabang. Lunch will be served on board. Once in Pak Ou, we will stop to visit the local caves that are a famous pilgrimage place for locals, especially at the Lao New Year period. The caves has hundreds of Buddha images. On arrival in Luang Prabang, visit of Wat Xieng Thong and then transfer by tuk tuk to Mount Phousy to enjoy a unique panoramic view over the surroundings before going to the hotel. At the day comes to the end, we will have a drink at the Hive Bar while watching an ethnic fashion show displaying 95 pieces of ethnic clothes (one of the biggest private collection). Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 7: Luang Prabang
Breakfast before visiting the Royal Palace (closed on Tuesday), Wat Mai & Wat Sene in the morning. Then drive to the outskirts of the town to enjoy a lunch with the weavers of the living weaving center of Ock Pop Tok. In the afternoon, a workshop will afford you a better immersion into the textile field and you will dye yourself your own scarf. Then, we will go to the Traditional Art & Ethnology Center (closed on Monday) to learn more on ethnic hill tribes in Laos and their customs before having free time in the night market that takes place every evening in some streets of the town and probably the best place to buy souvenirs in Laos. Option: Petanque party with locals. Fun is guaranted! Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 8: Luang Prabang
Breakfast at the hotel. Then, mountain bike tour along the Nam Khan River valley with encounters with local communities. Picnic lunch along your way and then we will rich the banks of the river where our kayak will be awaiting us. After a debriefing and a speech on safety & security measures, we will jump into our kayaks and paddle down for about 90 minutes (easy level, 2 persons/kayak, duration depending of the water level and fitness of clients). Some stops will be done along the river to observe different techniques of fishing. Then, we will stop in Ban Noun where our vehicle will be awaiting for us to bring us back to the hotel. Dinner at the discretion of the clients .Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 9: Luang Prabang – Shangri Lao
For those who wants, early wake up to attend the alms giving procession in the streets of the town at 5 :30am and then pursue with a visit of the fresh market before breakfast at your hotel. Option: French breakfast at Café Wat Sene or Le Banneton Bakery Around 8:30am, a 15km drive will lead you to the Elephant Camp. A first introduction will make you aware of the history of this animal and the situation of this symbol in Laos nowadays. After this presentation, it will be time to seat on the back of your animal (2 persons per animal) for a 90 minutes ride through the jungle. Once the Houay Sae valley will be reached, we will let our elephant going to the forest for feeding and we will enjoy our picnic Lao lunch in the forest… with wine! This break will be followed by a 90 minutes trek in the jungle and when the track will be leaving the valley, some horses will accompany you to carry your daypack for around 30 minutes till the river where a bamboo raft will cruise down the river to return to the camp. Check in in your luxury tent and free time at leisure to enjoy the camp and its swimming pool. Dinner will be hold at the camp around a sindat. The sindat is a Lao barbecue where you grilled your own sliced meat on a steel dome while you boil your broth with your own vegetables, spices.

Day 10: Luang Prabang- Vang Vieng
Breakfast before departure to Vang Vieng. The 6-7 hours overland transfer will have several stops along the way to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and villages visits. Lunch will be served at Phou Fieng Fa, few kilometers after Phou Khoun. The restaurant is settled on a top of a summit and offers an amazing 360 degrees view. At 15.00-16.00pm, arrival at Phou Dindaeng for a snack at the organic farm. A good way to be introduced to local products & ingredients such mulberry tempuras. A last 3km drive will bring us at your hotel in Vang Vieng. Check in and free time at leisure. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

Day 11: Vang Vieng- Vientiane
Breakfast before going to visit some caves in the vicinity of Vang Vieng within an amazing limestone relief landscape. Lunch on your own in Vang Vieng before driving to Vientiane (around 3 hours). Once in Vientiane, check in at your hotel and dinner at Phatoke Lao Derm while assisting to a traditional performance show.

Day 12: Vientiane
City tour in the morning to see the main sightseeing of Vientiane : Wat Sisaket, Wat Hoprakeo, Patuxay & le That Luang. Lunch will be served at Makphet restaurant, a vocational restaurant that aims to train street children. In the early afternoon, we will visit COPE exhibition center to better understand the ongoing secret war that is still affecting Laos with the remnants of UXO & landmines through the country and especially in Southern Laos and along the border with Vietnam. At the end is coming to the end, break with local flavored ice cream at Parad’Ice. Overnight in Vientiane.

Day 12: Vientiane
